Frequently Asked Questions
How Should I Dress For Zion?
No matter what time of the year you choose to visit Zion, multiple layers are strongly recommended. Depending on your planned activities, your clothing and footwear will also need to be carefully planned. As an example, synthetic, wicking fabrics are best as they will protect you from the elements. Cotton, on the other hand, retains any water or sweat and should the weather turn cold, cotton can no longer keep you warm. Each season is different, so it is best to be prepared for the weather outside. In the cool spring months, the highs reach the mid to upper 60s, while the lows may dip below freezing. In the hot summer months, highs can top out in the low 100s while the lows are comfortable in the mid to upper 50s. In the crisp fall months, daily highs can reach the high 80s, while the lows dip into the lower 40s. The winter months can be a bit more harsh, reaching highs in the upper 40s and lows into the teens. For hikers, sturdy boots are a must and waterproof ones with a non-slip sole is best. Warm, dry feet will be happy feet! For those planning to hike steeper, more rugged trails, ankle support is also strongly recommended. Also, it is best your boots are already broken in as no one wants to get blisters from new boots.
What is There To Do in Zion Besides Hike?
